Spencer Gallagher Cleared by Doctors to Return to Racing Action this Weekend at Chicagoland Speedway
Gallagher Set to Climb Behind the Wheel of Familiar No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Impala SS
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 15, 2013) – Gallagher Motorsports officials are pleased to announce today that Spencer Gallagher will return to the seat of the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Impala SS for this weekend’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Ansell ActivArmr 150 at Chicagoland Speedway.
Gallagher, who has been sidelined with a vestibular concussion he received during a wreck in early June at Michigan International Speedway, has missed the last two ARCA Racing events per doctor’s orders. The Las Vegas, Nev., native underwent the required therapy coupled with prolonged rest and regular visits with his doctors during his downtime. Upon his last consultation with the specialists, Gallagher was given the go-ahead to resume racing, beginning with this week’s 100-lap event in Joliet, Ill.
Feeling confident in his abilities to get back on track and up to speed, Gallagher looks forward to heading to the 1.5-mile paved tri-oval. Visiting the facility for the first time last season, the then young rookie saw early success during the race before an expired engine ruined the evening. Preparing chassis No. 664, Gallagher Motorsports intends to pick up right where they left off. No. 664 last ran at Pocono Raceway in June, where Gallagher earned a hard fought top-10 finish.
